Seahawks Decide Not to Sign Joe Mixon After Physical

The Seattle Seahawks have chosen not to sign veteran running back Joe Mixon following his physical examination. Previously, there were expectations that Mixon might join the Seahawks’ practice squad if he passed the required physical. His potential signing had been contingent upon this outcome, especially considering he did not play in 2025 because of a foot injury. Coach Mike Macdonald indicated on Monday that while Mixon did work out for the team, there were no definitive plans to sign him.

The Seahawks subsequently signed running back Robert Henry Jr. from the Washington Commanders’ practice squad. They also added Dontae McMillan, a rookie from Eastern Michigan, to their squad. The decisions to bring on Henry and McMillan indicate a shift in focus towards new talent, as Seattle seeks to bolster its running back options in light of injuries affecting their roster.
